[PLEASE READ] The master glamour photographer is Ken Marcus This is a video-profile sampler in support of a great American artist and his beautiful model (ca 1986). In her 1971 article entitled “Art and Cognition,” author/philosopher Ayn Rand reflected on the artistic commitment of film director Fritz Lang (1890-1976): “While [he] was making SIEGRIED [1924], it is reported, a sign hung on the wall of his office: ‘Nothing in this film is accidental.’ THIS is the motto of great art. Very few artists, in any field, have ever been able to live up to it.” Ken Marcus did. The proof can be found not only in his photographs, but also heard in his own words: --“Almost anyone can take a picture, but the real challenge is to make a picture.” --“The elements of my photographs are thought out in advance—the choice of models, props, locations, even the lighting are not left to chance.” --“I believe in the five ‘P’s of photography: proper planning permits perfect pictures.” Art involves the objectification of values. Glamour photography objectifies (and stylizes) the beauty of a woman’s body. In this video excerpt from Ken’s Glamour Workshops Video Series, the collaboration between Marcus and Monique shows off both artists at their best. Observe how well the challenges of the outdoor shoot are met by Marcus (with creativity, decision, and positive energy) and by Monique (with confidence, patience, and poise). This is a digital-camera age, but I still think amateur shutterbugs can learn a lot about the craft of glamour photography by exploring the Ken Marcus’s Glamour Workshops Video Series on DVD. Last time I checked, it was available here: http://www.melrosevideo.com/ Visit Ken’s photographic gallery website here: http://www.kenmarcusgallery.com/ NOTE: This is a video of goodwill and tremendous admiration. Thoughtful comments and/or questions are welcome. If you are a professional and want credit I've neglected to give OR prefer that I delete this video, please contact me and it will promptly be done. Thank you.
