Piano Concerto (2016) Composer's Notes: Sergei Prokofiev completed his First Symphony in 1916 in order to reach broader audiences. The musical languages of the day for many had gone off the rails and turned their back on the public. The public has since turned their backs on self-indulgent composers. This trend has continued to the current day. This was not the case with Prokofiev and his first symphony. The piece was modeled after the structure of a Haydn symphony so that listeners could grab onto something familiar. The harmonic language, while contemporary at the time, never went too far afield from what listeners could identify with, and enjoy. The composition techniques were straight from Haydn and Mozart. I have done much the same thing as Prokofiev in an effort to bring audiences back into the concert hall in the twenty first century, but never trite or commercial. Composers are here to serve the public and to bring the joy of music and listening to the world. This new production has been made with Wallender Instruments, an advance music sample and interpretive engine. First live performance by Falcon Symphony on June 8, 2018 under the baton of Ruben Capriles. Isdari Lugo, Pianist. Falcon Symphony Orchestra https://www.orquestasinfonicadefalcon.org/ Coro, Venezuela. First Movement - Allegro Second Movement - Andante Cantabile (12:06) Third Movement - Rondo (18:35)
