Pickup Test - EMG 81 vs 57/66

Swapped out the stock EMG 81's in my JK-1 and dropped in a 57/66 set...made some quick comparison clips. Same guitar, same strings just different pickups. All riffs/music by The Black Stymphalian (www.facebook.com/theblackstymphalian) All tones recorded with the Kemper Profiler 100% raw and unprocessed. My personal opinion.... I find the 57 in the bridge "fuller" without the 81's high mid "sizzle". Generally more even/organic overall with a thicker feel....however the 81 is tighter in the low end and cuts through with a more aggressive pick attack. As for the neck pickups....the 66 slays the 81 both on clean and with distortion...awesome pick attack when playing leads and lush chimey tones with a clean tone. Highly recommended! Naturally that's just my opinion but I hope this video helps you make your own mind up. Thanks for watching!
