Please be advised that this IS a long video, but worth watching! I got the opportunity to go flying in N36282 for it's second flight with it's new engine up to KRKD and KPWM! N36282 has been in maintenance since April waiting for engine parts and on last Friday, the engine was completed! This is 282's second flight with the new engine. We filed IFR out of Beverly via PSM and ENE at 5,000 feet and departed on runway 34. We climbed to 5,000 and did some VOR tracking to our waypoints. We canceled IFR right before Knox County Airport (KRKD) and overflew the airport and circled around Camden and went down to Portland. The reason we overflew it was because the new engine ahs to stay running at 75% power for a long amount of time. When we were on the visual for 29 at KPWM we were told to follow an E145. There was also an E170 holding for us! We taxied up to the FBO, shut down to let the engine cool for 20 minutes, went to the terminal to get a snack and a quick bathroom break, and then took off and headed back down to Beverly for a full stop landing. It was great getting some complex high performance XC time for 2.8 hours! I also reached over 70 hours just at 71.7! It was a beautiful day for flying! Enjoy the video!
