Playing Percussion in a Drum Break Part 5; Open Notes

Part Five of ideas for playing percussion alongside a drumset player in a contemporary rock style drumbreak. In this episode I explore a couple things dead using only open notes. In the introduction I am using a mallet however it is the only time I do so in this video. I have used the “lead guitar” a couple times as a reference/analogy however I want to add that the I realize the lead guitar does not only improvise but also may play specific parts pertaining to the composition.
