A predator-prey (Lotka-Volterra) system is simulated on a 2D plane, giving rise to characteristic spatial pattern formation. Blue prey replicates itself with a certain rate and gets eaten by red predators when the predator reaches the prey. All particles move diffusionally. This reaction-diffusion process was simulated with ReaDDy, a software library for particle-based reaction-diffusion simulations. This simulation was the seed of the competition during the ReaDDy summer school 2014: http://sites.schoeneberglab.org/readdysummerschool2014/competition
