Prepar3D v4 - how I doubled fps with terrain shadows enabled

Prepar3D v4 - how I doubled fps with terrain shadows enabledУ вашего броузера проблема в совместимости с HTML5
Warning! Video is only valid for ORBX PNW and the older Hardware mentioned below! Might be the reason for the thumbs downs. See part 2. When migrating from Prepar3D v2 to v4, I first took my settings from v2 as far as possible, as they are slightly different parameter sets. I was horrified, 40% lower fps as with v2. This video shows 2 parameters to change, which doubles fps for me in the shown situation in v4 without significant quality loss, if any! It seems that some parameters have a different internal value range in v4. By the way, as can be seen in the video, there is even some 'terrain shadow' visible without terrain shadow enabled. This is a difference to v2, which does this not show. (Video shows recordings from Prepar3D v4 only). CPU: Intel Xeon E3 1231 V3 (Haswell). 16 GB RAM. GPU: AMD R9 390 8 GB.
