Pride March Edmonton June 8th 2019

Please be informed that the government did not cancel the events. Zeke was unaware of this. This year marks the 39th anniversary of the first pride march in Edmonton! Join us on Saturday June 8th for a community driven march to strengthen our community with LGBTQ2S+ folks and allies. We will gather and march in unity, empowerment and love for who we are. Please meet us at 9am at Louise McKinney Park (9999 Grierson Hill NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 2A4) The day will begin with a rally at the park followed by a march around the neighboring area in support of equality and our LGBTQI+QTPOC community. We have invited speakers from groups working within our community to speak out and tell us their story as well as keynote guest speakers. This is now being organized by individuals in the community. Is there a parade or other march happening? No. This is the only march happening on June 8th in Edmonton. There is no parade as the Edmonton PRIDE Festival Society cancelled the parade and festival in April. This sent our community into a bit of a tail spin and we ask for your patience and understanding as we (us here at the Unified March and all the others hosting events) work towards creating a dynamic range of grassroot events on very little notice.
