Princess Cake:
Ingredients
Fondant as required
Red food gel/colour few drops
Doll 1
Ingredients for Vanilla Sponge
Flour 2-1/2 cups
Sugar 2 cups
Baking powder 2-1/2 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
Butter 1 cup
Eggs 4
Milk 1 cup
For Buttercream Frosting
Butter 200 gm
Icing sugar 400 gm
Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Milk 2-3 tbsp (or as desired consistency)
Method
Cream the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time. Add vanilla essence. In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking powder.
Add this dry mix to the butter mixture, alternating with the cup of milk. Mix well. Pour in 3 round tins of 6-inch and bake at 180 degrees centigrade for 45 – 55 minutes.
For buttercream frosting, cream the butter and add the sugar 2-3 spoons at a time till the consistency is light and fluffy. Add the flavours and milk to butter and sugar to achieve a smooth texture.
Layer the sponges with buttercream in between and make a hole according to the size of the doll. Crumb coat the cake with buttercream frosting and put in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Dust little flour on the counter, colour the fondant pink and roll the fondant keeping in mind the size of the cake and the dress of the doll. Cover the cake with fondant, place the doll and set the dress. Decorate as you like.
