Thiruvananthapuram: The private bus operators, who have been on strike for five days, decided to withdraw their strike after a meeting with the Chief Minister on Tuesday. The bus owners held a meeting with the Chief Minister in which he assured them to hold a detailed discussion on their needs later. However, he reportedly refused to take a decision on their demands at once. The bus owners said they realised the difficulties faced by the public due to the strike. They also denied a split within the federation on withdrawing the strike. The Motor Vehicles Department had served show-cause notice on several bus operators asking to state the reason why their permits should not be cancelled.
