Propella Ebike Giveaway Update with Ryan and Alex!

In August 2018 I reviewed the Propella 2.2 7-speed electric bike and then did an accessories video outlining a bunch of modifications I had made for fun. Shipping is expensive for these ebikes so I asked Propella if I could just keep the bike and donate it to someone who could really use it. They said yes, so I pitched in some of my own money for the accessories and posted about it in the EBR Forums. Original Propella 2.2 video review: https://electricbikereview.com/propella/2-2-7-speed/ Accessories video with contest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZMX0030YyE Donation / Contest details in the forums: https://electricbikereview.com/forum/threads/accessorized-propella-ebike-giveaway-finished.24972/ I chose Ryan because he already knew about single speeds and city bikes but had been riding an older model for quite some time. He had been following the channel and considering an ebike already, and he was on my route to California to film other reviews... everything fit! So Ryan and Alex (his friend) met with me to receive the bike and then he was going to ride all the way back to Denver! Ryan told me that he rides 150+ miles per week around the city. Cycling is one of his favorite activities, but he was run over by a truck years ago which broke his spine and pelvis. There was a chance that he could have died, but he was wearing a helmet when the truck ran over his head. Despite being told that he might never walk again, Ryan worked hard in physical therapy and was able to walk and even ride bikes after just eight months of recovery! After his accident, a nurse was driving nearby and stopped to help him, the driver also stopped. Ryan explained that he hadn't left enough space and was riding too fast to avoid a pothole and that the incident could have been prevented... I thought that this was a humble message and it was big of him to share with us. Ryan has been a cyclist for over a decade, he has a positive attitude and rides every day. None of us is perfect, but it's great that we can enjoy our time together and be happy about what we have. He got a tattoo that says "love life" on his arm to remind of how fortunate he is :) The song is a royalty free track from the YouTube audio library by Spazz Cardigan called Marlboro Lite found here: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music To run the forums, host the website, and travel, I charge a universal service fee for my reviews and in-depth videos like this.
