Protest in Japan both for and against

Recently on Okinawa, one of Japans southern prefectures part of the Ryukyu Islands, there were massive demonstrations. The demonstration was to express the people's displeasure involving the U.S.A. military bases on the island. Bases cover 18% of the island, and house a majority of the U.S.A. military in Japan. The recent demonstration the people held hands linking around the USA military base of Futenma (Ginowan City). Afterwards in there was a demonstration in Tokyo (Tokyo-to) in support of the U.S.A. military alliance between the two nations.
