Russian President Vladmir Putin and British Prime Minister David Cameron had VIP seats at the Olympic judo competition at the ExCel Centre at the Olympic games. World champion athlete, Tagir Khaibulaev, claimed Russia's third gold in London, as Russia continues its dominance in Olympic judo. At a 45-minute meeting earlier, Putin and Cameron discussed Russia's refusal to back a UN resolution aimed at trying to halt the violence in Syria between President Bashar Assad's regime and anti-government rebels. "We agreed to continue working to find a viable solution," Putin said. While watching the match, Putin, a longtime judo enthusiast, clenched his fists and leaned back nervously. When his compatriots won the Olympic gold, he leaped from his seat and thrust his arms skyward. After the match, Putin met Khaibulaev and wrapped him in a warm embrace. "The president congratulated me. He was very pleased, especially since he has been with us these past four years. He came and trained with us," Khaibulaev said. The 28-year-old became the world champion last year, and hasn't lost at an international event since taking the title. Russia won two judo gold medals, the country's first since the breakup of the Soviet Union, and a bronze earlier this week.
