PwC & SWaCH - scaling up sustainability

India is the third-largest solid waste generator globally in terms of sheer volume. With a majority of this waste going untreated, we have a big environmental crisis on our hands. PwC's Risk Assurance Services team and PwC India Foundation joined hands with SWaCH—a Pune-based cooperative of waste collectors—for a pro-bono initiative to help resolve this crisis. We helped SWaCH build a lean staffing structure and set up cost-effective mechanisms to scale up their programmes.
