Raising A Baby Sparrow - by Mike Franzman

Sammie The Sparrow was an abandoned baby bird found in a flower-pot, during the Summer of 2014. Found on the first day of its life, with no nests or other birds in the area, we kept it warm, and fed it baby food from a medicine dropper every half hour, for about a month, until it was able to pick up seeds on its own, and fly with strength and accuracy. Eventually we ventured outside with her until she was confident enough to be released. She flew around outside, and came back to me when hungry, for another two weeks or so, until she decided to stop returning. This video shows footage from about Day 15 to Day 60. On Day 97, Sammie finally flew off for good.
