In Guatemala, we meet two young girls, aged 16 and 14, who are risking everything travelling on their own with the dream of making it to America. For many women, this journey ends in rape and forced sex work, making it hard for our team to say goodbye to them as they continued their journey into the United States. After parting ways with the girls, the team meet a young woman who was essentially sold to a brothel to pay the people smugglers who brought her as far as Mexico. Millions of people throughout South America pay a fortune to try and enter the United States. If they are successful, they risk deportation. If they fail, they risk kidnap, extortion and death.
