Raspberry Pi to Arduino SIM900 GSM using Connection Bridge from Cooking Hacks

After a couple days of frustration, I finally got the kit (http://www.cooking-hacks.com/shop/raspberry-pi/shields/gprs-sim900-shield-for-raspberry-pi) sending out SMS. Their current (as of now) tutorial has a few important errors and misleading areas.
