England's premier batsman Joe Root spoke in Kolkata, India on Friday (1st April), two days ahead of their final against the West Indies in the ICC World Twenty20 tournament.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Joe Root, England, (on playing the final):
"Absolutely, can't beat it, can you? This is what you dream of as a kid, these opportunities to play in a final of a World Cup. Every time over the last couple of days I have looked around the dressing room or around the lads on the bus or the flight over, it's just been smiles. I think everyone is just really excited and can't wait to get out there on Sunday".
SOUNDBITE: (English) Joe Root, England (on the pressure on him to lead the batting, like Virat Kohli of India):
"It doesn't put me under pressure. The only pressure is the game you are playing in at the time. He is a fine player, I watch him play as much as I can. I think that's really important. To keep looking at the best players in the world, how they go about their business, is there anything that I can improve my game from the way they play, I try to take that on board. Virat (Kohli) did exceptionally well throughout this tournament. There are many great players around the world in this format, who I want to try and emulate and add to my game what they do, so I think more than anything it is about playing the situation on Sunday and getting that right. If we can get that right, hopefully we will be winners".
