Lexington leads Kentucky in general economic growth, says LaVaughn Henry, vice president and senior regional officer, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Cincinnati Branch.
'Statistics from the metropolitan area show that unemployment is down, the labor market is expanding, and wages are on the rise,' Henry says.
Henry credits the low unemployment rate and strong employment figures to the area’s diverse economy and its substantial base of highly educated and innovative workers.
