Remorqueur RC (tugboat) Wacht Am Rhein première navigation (Bateau vapeur / Tugboat / Dampfboot)

Maquette bateau RC du remorqueur "Wacht am Rhein VIII" [Veille sur le Rhin] construit en 1893 par le Chantier naval P. Boele de Slikkerveer en Hollande. Il avait une chaudière à charbon qui entraîné un moteur développant 300 IHP. En 1894 il est mis en service sous le nom de "Wacht am Rhein VIII" par J Huttner dans Wesel-Buderich. A la fin du siècle le bateau devient la propriété de Johann Knipscheer Shipping Compagnie qui était la première entreprise a osé faire du remorquage par bateau à Bâle, en amont de la frontière Suisse. Le bateau a été renommé "Direktor Johann Knipscheer". En 1919 il a été renommée "Speculant". Entre 1924 et 1957 plusieurs modifications majeures ont été faites à sa centrale électrique et superstructure. En 1972 il est rebaptisé "Pieter Boele", en hommage à son constructeur, et en 1987 remis au Prins Hendrik Musée Maritime de Dordrecht où il est gardé en état par des bénévoles.
