I honestly wasn't expecting the matte finish, so that is certainly a nice treat. This version of Skull is shown when Soukichi uses the Skull Memory for the first time. I like to think of it as "Level 1" sort of like how the Nasca Memory had various power levels. Lack of explanation aside, I love the look, but how does the Figuart stand up to Skull's epicness? Overall, if you haven't picked up a Skull, or sold it since the first one was pretty crappy, this is a huge improvement. The matte finish looks great, the Crystal head is a nice bonus, and the figure just seems better built and put together. If you still have the original Skull, I can still recommend this one if you want an improved figure, or the new head.
