A new trailer and poster have been released for Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The new, longer look at the movie gives us a lot more in way of plot and footage, including a better look at the most iconic villain to ever don a breathing mask: Darth Vader. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and scheduled to hit theaters on December 16.
Disney is actively looking to fill the director’s chair for their Mulan adaptation with an Asian filmmaker and one name in particular has surfaced who reportedly turned down the movie. In a report from THR about dueling Mulan adaptations, both at Sony and Disney, the trade mentioned that Life of Pi director Ang Lee was approached by Disney but passed on the movie. Disney is now moving quickly to find a director, as well as launching a global search to find a Chinese lead actress and love interest.

One of the year’s most acclaimed (and profitable) horror films this year is Fede Alvarez’s Don’t Breathe. The film has made Alvarez one of Hollywood’s most sought-after directors and now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s signed on to the upcoming comic book film Incognito. The movie will be produced by Sony pictures and tells the story of Zach Overkill, a supervillain who is in Witness Protection after testifying against a powerful hero The Black Death. Though required to take a drug that eliminates his superpowers and work a boring mail job, Zach becomes restless and finds a way to regain his powers, forcing him to decide whether to use them again or stay in the safety of his regular job. A release date has not been set.
After a special IMAX screening of 15 minutes of Doctor Strange, Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige fielded a question about Kate Beckinsale‘s comments that a potential crossover between Underworld and Blade had been considered and abandoned because, “They’re doing something with ‘Blade.'” Feige then said that the Underworld producers did approach the studio about a potential crossover but Marvel said no.
The first clip has been released for Jurassic World 2 helmer JA Bayona’s A Monster Calls. The movie tells the story of Connor, played by Lewis MacDougall, a 12-year-old boy who’s dealing with his dying mother, played by Felicity Jones, his cold grandmother, played by Sigourney Weaver, his distant father, played by Toby Kebbell, and the bullies at school. In his hour of need, he inadvertently summons a monster to help him, voiced by Liam Neeson. A Monster Calls opens in limited release on December 23rd, followed by a wide release on January 6th.
