This is a video of the MINI-BEACON Rotating Beacon / Strobe by DIYRC.COM. This simulator uses a ultra-bright (up to 1 watt or 600mA) LED to simulate a rotating beacon like that on odler poilce and emergency vehicles (ramp up light, a flash, then ramp down light,... like as if it was rotating). This is designed to operate from any 5 volts, and is typically used on Radio Control (R/C) models for realistic lighting effects. The unit easily plugs into a spare receiver channel and can be controlled (turned on or off) using the spare channel (i.e. transmitter stick or switch). There are 12 settings the user can choose from, with flash patterns ranging from quick to slow rates, including double and triple flashes at the top of the ramp.. more can be read about this gadget here:
