Royal Enfield Continental GT

Australian delivery bike - first owner registered 5/3/2014 After this video - check out my latest gt video . bike now fitted with the hitchcocks stainless steel sports muffler Been waiting approx 18 months for the delivery of this bike and well worth the wait. Cafe racer is nicely presented with excellent paint and finish. Nice riding position and the solo seat is firm but acceptable. Gear shift is positive and on my first run on the bike i experienced no false neutral shifts. Clutch is light and although i have had 3 other royal enfield uce - I stalled it on my very first departure from the front yard. The Brembo front disc brake are light on the touch and when applied have plenty of bite. Rear disc brake bites well and far better than the normal rear drums on the other Enfields This cafe racer appears or feels like it is higher off the ground than my previous C5's or the B5. Might be just an illusion but it sure feels higher. fuel tank is longer/slender than the other Enfield model but with its deep red lustre is a real attention getter. although there is very little power difference between it and any of the other Enfied stable mates it is It is also a lot quicker off the mark. speedometer is rock steady too so that is a big plus - no more bouncy speedometer needle. overall a very nice bike which I am 100% happy with. Any negatives - Plastic rear drive chain guard should have been metal and the plastic front/rear mud guard extension. most owners will get rid of these for sure. My bike arrived with the standard factory exhaust and wing mirrors. Sports exhaust on order and will me here late March 2014. So if you in the market for the Continental GT - buy one its was worth the wait and I'm sure Royal Enfield will sell heaps. Plus there has been a nice drop and mine came in $1000 cheaper than my quote two months earlier In Australia ride away $9800......Great bike and a bargain to boot.
