You clicked on this review because you want to know more about the Ruffwear K9 Float Coat. What this is, is a high-quality life jacket designed for your dog. A couple of quick features: It's got this handle here, so you're able to control your dog, if it falls in the water if you're canoeing, it's hard to pick up a big dog out of the water. Simply grab this handle, pull the dog back into the canoe. It's also got a plastic D-ring here that you're able to connect the leash to. It also has reflective stripes on the side and the top, so when you shine a light on it, it's easier to see your dog. That's a nice safety feature. It comes in two colors: this red, and also a yellow. It comes in six sizes: extra-extra small to extra large. Stella is a medium at 27 inches, and to find that number, take a tape measure. Go around the back of your dog's front legs, and however many inches that is, is the size that you should use. Stella's a medium at 27 inches, and it does fit true to size. There's also a couple of straps down here, that you can use to adjust the size, and there's also another strap here on the front by the dog's neck to make it a little tighter or a little more loose. Unfortunately, I don't have footage of Stella, swimming in it, but it does work. Winder kind of came quick here in Minneapolis, and I wasn't able to get any of that footage. It comes in six sizes: extra-extra small to extra large. This is a medium for Stella because I measured the girth, which is where you measure around here, and she was 27 inches, and the medium is 27-32 inches. It fits great. I put this link below for the size requirements but I would say that the size runs true to form. I'm up in the Boundary Waters in Northern Minnesota, but you might want to take it out with some walks. That's what I did for a couple of weeks to make sure she's used to wearing it. Easy to put on. Just put the dog's head through the hole here. It just goes on like that. Then if you just look there's two buckles on each side, or on the side. Just buckle in here and you can adjust these. These fold out and you can adjust it if you need it wider or skinnier girth for your dog. Come here Stella! And then you just take this next strap here, and you tighten it in like so. And you're on. Super easy to take it off, just un-buckle both buckles, and the dog will just kind of back out of the life jacket. So, really easy off too. I got a headlamp pointing at Stella just to show you the reflective nature of the float coat. So there's a line on the bottom, and then another one on the top. If I kind of look over her, you can see how reflective it is. It's just a nice safety feature to have with the life jacket, so when you are at night and the dog has it on, it's easier to find your dog. But it's a nice touch to a quality life jacket. It's the K9 float coat by Ruffwear. It's a great little life jacket that comes in red and yellow color. It comes in six sizes.
