Russia: School's out forever in Moscow

The celebration, marked throughout Russia, usually includes a day full of programmes, drama plays and dances at the graduates' schools. Traditionally the newly graduated high school students jump in public fountains and it is an open secret that some drink alcohol. The teenagers are easily recognised wearing Soviet-era uniforms, white shirts and a sash or ribbon over the shoulder, which are often left on for the whole day.
