Part one covered the trip from Australia to Yakutsk. Part two covers the section where I hitch-hiked from Yakutsk to Magadan, a distance of 2000km on the Kolyma highway. I'm not a native (or even competent) speaker of Russian, and I traveled alone. I was on the highway during August, which is late summer and early autumn in that region. I was told to expect bears, brigands, terrible roads, dust, and death, however the closest I came was when a car I was in flipped 35km south of Atka.
