Russian Сhildren. The "Marshmallow" Test on Conscience
У вашего броузера проблема в совместимости с HTML5
Unlike the original Stanford Marshmallow Experiment which tests children on willpower and self control versus instant self-gratification, this one is about a Conscience. In this version, waiting for an extra sweetie wouldn't bring a child any personal benefit; you suppose to share your prize with a friend. The Russian children did remarkably well in this trial. The concept of conscience is very strong in Russian culture. Sharing and caring for others, love for your friends, sense of belonging to a bigger community is deeply imprinted in Russian mentality and genes. I wonder if children from different countries would show similar results? Is conscience an inherited quality or is it cultural and could be learned?
Would anyone like to repeat the test with your own children? :-)
The clip is an extraction from a documentary "Conscience" (2010)
