RX 580 vs GTX 1060 Frame Time Analysis - Prey (2017) [HW LABS]

We join Morgan Yu aboard the Talos I space station in Prey, the first-person action-adventure video game developed by Arkane Studios in Austin. The game went for a cartoonish look, the whole feeling resembles Bioshock. We explore the Hardware Lab section in our benchmark sequences.
We got very high averages from the mainstream cards as the small labs, hallways and corridors of the space station doesn't have too many objects to render. Despite the high frame rate, the game has some severe stutters, especially on the GTX 1060. Cannot really declare a winner as the averages are way too high, but the game / drivers require some further fine tuning to get rid of those frame time spikes. Would have been nice to have an in-engine option to up the internal resolution of the game to 1440p - VSR is still broken in the Crimson drivers.

A dedicated recording PC with a capture card was used to save the game footages and consequently no performance penalty was incurred on the reviewed systems. For convenience, games are installed on an external SSD and connected to the reviewed PC via USB3.1 interface.
