Sanyo MR02 Vintage Dictation Cassette Auto Reverse Tape Recorder Restoration

The Sanyo MR02 Vintage Dictation Cassette Auto Reverse Tape Recorder is a very nice looking unit probably made in the 1980's at the height of the Walkman era. It uses a design similar to some SONY Walkman cassette players of the time, but this cassette recorder is mono and intended for dictation, although it will play pre recorded music cassettes. This video shows restoration of the Sanyo MR02 Vintage Dictation Cassette Auto Reverse Tape Recorder done for a ClydeSight client. When Clydesight received the machine, it was completely dead. The amplifier section was fine, all the problems were mechanical and due to age and materials breakdown. The problems that needed repair were the main drive belt (replaced) and a cracked fast forward/rewind drive gear.
