Satanite coating on the inside of the gas forge

The Kaowool has a heat rating of something like 2300-2600 degrees F. Most of the time, the metal doesn't need to be hotter than that to forge, but when I need to forge-weld, I have to get the forge up to or even above that temperature. The Satanite, on the other hand, is apparently rated to 3200 degrees F. If I manage to burn a hole through that stuff, I'm doing something wrong :)
