Scratchboard Illustration for a Steamworks Beer Label, Saison Beer

This video shows the process of doing a scratchboard illustration for a beer label. The drawing will be screen printed onto the bottle, so the amount of detail is limited. Also, the amount of line work in the drawing needs to be limited to allow the bright colors to dominate. However, with the way the labels will be printed, the line work of the scratchboard drawing will not actually be printed on the bottle. Instead, the area where the lines are will be left clear allowing the dark color of the bottle to represent the line work.
