Scratchbuilt Radio Controlled Twin Otter

This is Frank's trusty Twin Otter that he built in 2004. The original was powered by two speed 600 motors with a 2.3:1 belt drive and an 8 cell NiMH battery pack - marginal by today's standard. After the brushless/lipo revolution, the model was fitted with two Nippy Black 1812-100s and a 3S 4100mAh battery pack turning 9X6 APC props. This gave the model much more power. Recently, Frank added the counter-rotating, three bladed Master Airscrew propellers which has increased performance yet again. This model has also been fitted with floats, and is a great aerial video platform!
