This quest led me to factories in suburbs of megacities, towering electronics markets, apartments retrofitted as hackerspaces, alleys full of tiny workshops, and Hong Kong’s highest heights. I will share photos and stories of places I visited and people I met, along with some insights into the changing relationship to suppliers, and changing global markets. I will focus on Shenzhen and Yiwu, two very different cities that are integral to global supply chains. This research has been driven by a personal obsession with objects and obsolescence."
