also see pictures & narration at http://semester-in-spain-88.blogspot.com/ SEMESTER IN SPAIN, 1988 (@ UNED in Denia, Espana, with Calvin College class)...A great experience...great teachers,classmates, new friends etc ...we lived with a family in spain,...in the little town of denia and attended spanish classes every day at the university (called "uned" for short) ...denia is between alicante and valencia...further south of barcelona. It's also near Benidorm. We also traveled around Spain...including the famous Alhambra, as well as Mallorica, Madrid, ...even snow-skiing in the Granadas; and spent a week in London for spring break. I only had one bad experience during the semester..I got hit in the lip by a flying firecracker (or something )...I literally do not remember getting hit but only remember standing up and feeling my lip cut..ended up needing 20 stitches (u will see the pic)...my best guess was that during the fallas festivities as we were standing in the street something accidentally ( i hope) hit me in the lip ...but I survived...still have a small scar .
