Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus: Miyabi's Shinobi Heart (I'm Not A Man!)

Man, the Hebijo storyline of this game was pretty intense. The Hebijo girls kill all of the other girls in the game, and then they nearly kill each other for different reasons, too. Their storyline still end happily, but it doesn't change the fact that they killed all of the girls of Hanzo, Gessen, and the Crimson Squad beforehand. Thankfully, even the Hebijo girls get their cute, silly, and sexy moments of mundanity, because they have their own Shinobi Girl's Heart side-stories. Let's ignore how they slaughtered all of the other girls in their main story for a bit while focusing on Miyabi's personal story. ---------- Miyabi, as you know, is the current leader of Hebijo's elite shinobi. She carries on her a great sense of pride and honor for her school. So one of her biggest pet peeves is to have someone defile Hebijo's name. Her other big pet peeve... is mistaking her for a guy. Guess which of the two her personal story is about, here... Yes, despite, or perhaps BECAUSE of her boyish good looks, Miyabi has a massive fanclub of girls that swoon over her attractive masculine appearance, but this was getting becoming too much for her to handle as the crowds that followed her around got bigger, louder, and more disruptive to her training. She knew she had to find and advice to make herself look more girly. ---------- In Mission 1-01: I'm No Hunk!, Miyabi asks for Asuka about how she looks. Asuka accidentally ticks her off after she reminds her of a handsome boy in her grade with a huge following. Asuka likely would've gotten off better if this person wasn't a boy. In Mission 1-02: Comic Book Hero, Miyabi went for Murakumo for some opinions on her looks. Unfortunately, Murakumo had just lost her mask, and without it, she thinks of herself as a hideous beast (once again, her "savage" voice will still be heard during gameplay). Murakumo flusteredly hands Miyabi a manga she's working on. Sadly for her with Miyabi, it's a shonen manga, which means it's targeted towards boys, something Miyabi is not in the mood to be reminded of. In Mission 1-03: Sweet Gentleman, Miyabi encounters Ikaruga, who took offense to the ample breast cleavage Miyabi showed off with her shinobi outfit. It reminded Ikaruga of Katsuragi, who has a similar fashion sense but never listens to Ikaruga about covering herself up. Miyabi tries this advice, herself, but it wasn't working out for her too much, and she actually ends up blushing when Ikaruga comments that she looks like the perfect gentleman and stares at her in a particularly affection way... In Mission 1-04: You're Really Cool!, Shiki talks to Miyabi about how a lot of her friends are in mad love with her and want to see her more. Miyabi wonders why Shiki's friends don't talk to her directly about this, and Shiki bring up how they don't do this with boys they're in love with, and think of Miyabi as a really cool boy that they wouldn't be able to handle in a direct conversation. It seems like Shiki is trying to hook one of them up with Miyabi, even though Miyabi is a girl. At this point, Miyabi can't stand having her gender mistaken. Lastly, in Mission 1-05: , Miyabi returns to Hebijo to ask her close friend Imu for help, as she is frustrated with everyone calling her a guy. However, when she tells Imu of how Shiki wants to hook one of her friends up to her, and not ask of this directly, Imu believes this is a setup and tries to keep Miyabi from seeking her answers with them. ---------- In the end, Miyabi realizes that she is called many different male things, like a male student, a main character (who is male), a gentleman, and even outright a "hot guy". All of these titles and none of them female. What wasn't helping her case is that Imu was absolutely fawning over how "manly" she was as a person. She finally had enough, and belted out that, for the very last time, she is NOT a man! And then she ran... As fate would have it, Miyabi's dash would end up having her encounter local pervert Katsuragi. Despite this status, Miyabi just had to talk to her about her "look like a boy" issues and needed some advice to fix it. Katsuragi simply suggests dressing up as a girl. Even more than Miyabi normally does, at least. So she hands Miyabi some clothes she got from a sale and Miyabi instantly puts them on through a Shinobi Transformation. Indeed, her new outfit made her look girlier than her previous one, but would it be enough to shake off her rabid fanclub, including Imu? Who shows up afterwards? Miyabi strikes a pose in her girly outfit, and Imu was stunned. It seems to have worked... for a few seconds. Imu was so elated by Miyabi's new look, that she actually shot blood from her nose and passed out. Seems like whether she's manly or girly, Miyabi will always be attractive to other girls. Looks like it just simply can't be helped when you're just that good-looking...
