The Ontario government has updated the province’s sexual education curriculum, a move that has been applauded by some and opposed by others. Let’s explore the Islamic perspective on Sexual Education. How was sexual education referenced and dealt with historically? What concepts are important to teach children and why? Farrah Marfatia, Principal of Maingate Islamic Academy, helps us answer these questions. Farrah is also very active in the Muslim educational community, focusing on developing two key documents to help Muslims parents and educators learn and understand sexual education from the Islamic perspective.
