This film is part of a collection of motion picture films that John Van Antwerp MacMurray shot during the time he served as American Minister to China (1925-1929). Shot aboard a ship, the film seems to contain scenes found on a list MacMurray left with his films, which includes the Shanghai Bund, Amoy Harbor, Canton Harbor with the HMS Sacramento, and scenes along the West River, including a pagoda on the inner reach and the USS Pamfanga. This is followed by footage of the hoisting of the anchor on the HMS Sacramento and ends with a view of Hong Kong Harbor.
