Shocking! Heavily pregnant woman takes 12-km shoulder ride, newborn dies

Again a case of severe apathy! A tribal pregnant woman was carried for 12 kilometres on dole, a bamboo stick basket with a pole as there was no proper road connectivity. The incident happened in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The pregnant woman was forced to take a ride on a makeshift shoulder carrier after she suffered premature labour pains. The doctors could not save the newborn baby, although the woman was shifted to Aravathipuram town by ambulance for treatment.
