శ్రావణమాసం ప్రత్యేకత, విశిష్టత Importance of #sravanamasam! We are in the one of the most auspicious months of the year--#Shravanamasam. This is the fourth month of the telugu calendar and falls in the months of august or september. The fridays of this month ara very special to all the Hindus. The friday preceding the full moon day, holds greater importance. On this day, women perform the# Varalakshmi Vratham and pray goddess Mahalakshmi ( goddess of wealth) for various things like good progeny and long life of the husband. #Varalakshmi Vratham is a form of worship of goddess #Mahalakshmi which begins with placing the kalash (bronze pot) placed in a heap of rice after thoroughly cleaning it. After making the swasthik on the kalasam, the goddess is worshiped with five kind of leaves and beetle nut. The #kalasham is filled with various things that differ from region to region.Most commonly things such as turmeric, comb, mirror, small black bangles and black beads are found in it. This is followed by singing of the Arti and offering various sweet dishes as naivedyam to goddess #Mahalakshmi
