Sights and Sound: Leboku New Yam Festival

Leboku is the annual New Yam Festival of the Yakurr people. The festival is a time to make new friends and appease the ancestors and gods of the land. Leboku is three-week long event that witnesses several activities such as; Miss Leboku pageant, maidens’ parade and a whole lot more. The festival aside its primary purpose of marshalling peace, good health and prosperity to the land has since become a huge tourists’ delight for people around the world.
