Smith's Pocket Pal Knife Sharpener: Friend or Foe?

Let me be quite clear. I would never recommend that anyone (even my worst enemy) use this product or a product like it for general sharpening. Put simply, if you care about your blades, don't bring them anywhere near this. However, in limited roles such as the one I outlined in this video (maintaining the expendable blades in my emergency kit), the Pocket Pal fits the bill. It's dumbfoundingly simple to use, and requires no knowledge of sharpening whatsoever, so anyone, no matter how well versed in the use of knives (or current level of dexterity, as discussed in the video), can maintain an edge on a cutting tool that may very well be a life saver in an emergency.
