The SDP-D905 digital surround processor is the "über equalizer" from Sony. It has a large graphical LCD display that offers you a 22 bands spectrum analyzer! Each band has a resolution of 32 levels. It concerns a parabolic equalizer that allows you to define up to 3 parabolas of amplication. You can define the steepness of each parabola in 3 different slopes Besides equalization the SDP also allows you to define surround reverb time and level, reflection and compress or expand "the space". It has 20 predefined sound settings like large hall, jazz club, stadium, etc. and allows you to store 10 presets of your own. It has a form factor of 35.5 cm width, which makes it a midi set. It actually belongs to the LBT-D905 set. This means you can control it via the AU BUS. The drawback is that you can not select the input from the SDP-D905. It has 3 optical and 1 analog inputs. Without the TA-D905 amplifier (or another AU bus device), you can not change the input. For me the SEQ-333ES is one of the most beautiful equalizers that Sony has built. The SEQ-711 with it's 2x7 band graphical equalizer is also nice. But the SDP-D905 with it's large graphic LCD screen is by far the most advanced equalizer Sony has ever produced.
