Aruma was rescued in 2007. Police confiscated him from a local market where a young local peasant was trying to sell him. He told that he found a bear cub in the forest. The mother bear run off with only one cub leaving Aruma behind. This story in unlikely to be truth. He found a new home at bolivian animal refuge La Senda Verde.
