Top flight European basketball action at the Beko Leagues Cup! FC Bayern Basketball hosted three league champions: Zalgiris Zaunas from Lithuania, Besiktas Istanbul from Turkey, and CSKA Moscow from Russia. In the first game, Curtis Jerrells scored 14 points, Damir Markota added 11 points and 9 rebounds as Besiktas defeated Zalgiris 75-57. Besiktas would take on the winner of game two between CSKA and Bayern. The clubs played a tight affair until the end of the third quarter. The Russian champs went on a 12-0 run into the final period that broke the game open. Alexander Kaun was instrumental building the lead, and finished with 26 points to lead all scorers. Munich got 14 points from Tyrese Rice and both Robin Benzing and Jan Jagla added 13 points, but the visitors had built a huge lead and were intent on making the final of this pre-season tournament. Bayern will play Zalgiris in the consolation game for third place, afterwards Besiktas and CSKA will play for the cup. Thank you for all who participated in the King's Hotel giveaway.
