Well I finally got some Stinking Bishop Cheese! I was going to order some a long time ago, but the supplier ran out. The company that makes this cheese is in England, and they don't produce very much of it which caused a six month wait for a new batch. I ordered it from igourmetdotcom, and was surprised to see the refrigerated package hit my door the next day!
The shrink wrapped package does a good job of blocking the stench, but as soon as you break the seal, you get slapped in the face with a hot dirty diaper smell. It's 100 times stronger than Limburger Cheese. The cheese itself is pretty good once you get past the smell. It's like really light Brie. I tried it with honey, and the honey made the cheese taste creamier. As much as I liked this cheese it still made me feel like I was sitting in a port-a-potty on a hot day sampling a cheese platter.
If you are into weird eating experiences, I would highly recommend this cheese. It was fairly inexpensive by itself, but the shipping ended up costing almost twice as much. It all worked out, because they got my little bundle of smelly gooey cheese to my doorstep in about twenty-four hours.
