Sunny Health & Fitness SF RW5515 Magnetic Rowing Review

Don't rely on the computer for anything but elapsed time and stroke count. The calorie count is not realistic, I've read on various websites that actual calories burned on rowing machines in general are at least twice as what's indicated on this machine depending on how vigorous your workout is. What you should keep track of is time used, resistance setting and your pulse after a workout. I gauge my workout by having my pulse elevate to twice what my resting rate is. As you get use to a resistance setting your pulse will decrease therefore you will need to increase the resistance setting and time spent. About the machine itself the seat does create a grinding (friction) sound when rowing which is normal. What wasn't normal on my machine was a clanging sound coming from the main housing. I contacted the manufacturer/distributor Sunny Fitness & Health and supplied them with a photo and video of the machine in action. I was asked to take the seat apart and inspect the bearings to see if they were smooth. I was offered a new seat as a remedy. Then when I brought up the clanging sound I was asked to open it up, I did not feel comfortable about doing this as there are 14 screws holding it together. I asked the customer service rep if they would send me a new housing unit if I could not put it back together. He said no and that if I ran into any difficulties to contact Amazon in order to get a replacement. So why would Sunny offer a replacement seat and not the main housing? The rep said it was not Sunny's problem if I couldn't rebuild it. What kind of warranty is that? Photo attached of the rail friction and video of the grinding and clanging sounds. I contacted Amazon and within 5 minutes an order was processed to send me a replacement of the entire machine. I also purchased from Amazon a smart scale "Weight Guru bluetooth scale" which is fantastic. Sunny Health & Fitness, you really need to get your act together. Thank you so much Amazon. review image
