五感の開いた好奇心旺盛なダンサー、音楽ファン、パーティー・ピープルたちへのラヴコール！ シカゴ発！高速でアグレッシヴな足技を中心とした新種のストリート・ダンスとして広がりを見せるフットワーク。シーンの最前線を突っ走るキング・チャールズ、そしてロブ、2人の世界的トップ・フットワーカー／ダンサーがBattle Train Tokyoに合流！ シカゴ・ハウスを源泉にまさにそのシカゴのローカル・シーンで独自の進化を続け高速化した音楽フォーム「ジューク」が、足技に重きを置いたダンス・スタイルと密接に関連し、低音と三連譜などトリッキーなリズムが強調され「フットワーク」という音楽／ダンス・カルチャーとして各地に拡散。この国でもさまざまなイヴェント／パーティー／ワークショップなどが開催されるなか、Battle Train Tokyo（BTT）はBPM160のジューク／フットワーク・トラック上でさまざまなダンサーたちがそのルーツやスタイル、世代や性別などを超えて競い合えるオープンなダンス・バトルの場として、東京の老舗ライブハウスLIQUIDROOMの2階で展開されるギャラリーKATAと、それに隣接のTime Out Cafe & Dinerにてこの国のジューク／フットワーク・シーンを支えるDJやトラックメーカー、フットワーカーたちとともにさらなるダンス／音楽シーンの燃焼と循環を目指し奮闘中。フットワーク／ダンスの普及を目的としたエクササイズ・ライン、Battle Train Tokyo Express（BTTE）も同会場にて毎月第一月曜日に開催中。 Battle Train Tokyo (BTT) is a dance event/party held at KATA, a venue/gallery on the 2nd floor of renowned Ebisu LIQUIDROOM supporting the Japanese Juke/Footwork scene. Juke/Footwork has its roots in Chicago, the birthplace of House music. After House has spread to the world, it continued to evolve in its hometown and it has become much faster (BPM160) with emphasis on intense bass and tricky triplet rhythms. Along with the music, the dance style has evolved and the Chicago Footwork dance with super-fast lower body movement was born. Together with Japans top Juke/Footwork DJs, producers, and Footwork dancers, BTT aims to gather dancers of all styles, ages, and gender and give them a place to compete and practice the Footwork dance. The Battle Train Tokyo dance tournament is held occasionally, and Battle Train Tokyo EXPRESS (aka Footwork DOJO) practice sessions with lessons taught by Japan’s top Footworkers are held every 1st Monday of the month starting at 7PM. BTT Lounge is held at Time Out Cafe & Diner right next to KATA for each BTT event, and guest DJs of various genres are invited to provide a relaxing atmosphere for the dancers and guests.
