So I stopped playing the game back in November when I was trying to fix some audio issues I was having with my setup, certain audio artifacts I was trying to fix etc. to the point where I eventually corrupted my OS and had to format and reinstall. After that I just never got around to reinstalling PUBG because I didn't feel like playing the game in the state it was in. In January I thought I'd see if the "release" 1.0 version of the game was any different from the version I was playing back in November. So is it better or different? Survey says......*drum roll*...not really. I mean sure vaulting is in the game but outside of that the same issues that made the game frustrating still exist and gun play still feels clunky. The amount of RNG in the game or random chance, like loot, circles, spray pattern, whether armor decides to work or hitboxes decide to function like they should, etc. is high and compounds the issues the game has. The new map which is way bigger than they initially hinted at is meh. A desert region with so many rolling hills I question what planet it's on. But as you can see I am playing the game so it's not all bad. It is a nice change of pace from Battlefield's sorry state. Also even though it's a Battlegrounds game and has a lot of RNG it does seem to focus on realism however it does not include suppression. Anyways at this point it seems like I just do a few rounds a week to unlock boxes to sell cosmetic stuff on Steam. So I'm open to DICE making a Battlegrounds game with Frostbite. PUBG needs the competition and besides they have so many IPs they could place the game in. I wonder if Disney would let them do a Star Wars Battlegrounds game. I'd settle for a simple current era game with Battlefield assets ("insert backstory/lore of game here"). Hell you could bring back what made BC1 so great, the cheesy hilarious theme of the game focused around stealing gold although in this case I guess you'd just win gold or maybe a Truckasaurus Rex.
