Tawonga planned burn April 2016

This planned burn will reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires to the Tawonga, Tawonga South and Mt Beauty communities in case of future bushfires, and also protect assets such as high voltage powerlines. Forest Fire Management, Parks Victoria, CFA and local Tawonga CFA brigade crews completed the Tawonga - Ryders Spur planned burn earlier this month along with a second adjacent burn (Tawonga Pub Spur) - in total, treating more than 2200 hectares in the area. The burn was conducted in both public and private property. It is a great example of fire agencies working together to reduce the risk to communities and the environment.
